Japanese Sumida Gawa Pottery Vase
Description
This exquisite piece of Japanese pottery dates back to the early 20th century and has the artists glazed plaque to reverse. This slender tapered vase features intricate designs that are typical of Sumida pottery. It has thick figural reliefs and bright and bold colours throughout.
Sumida pottery was created during the late 1800s all the way through to the 1920s and was mainly sold for export. The name derives from the famous Sumida river running near the Asakusa pottery district near Tokyo.
The vase itself is in good antique condition, however the handle to the top has been repaired at some point of its life (see last images)

For any smalls, the item will be be posted out within 2 working days of purchase using the postage service stated on the listing.
