Six Sopwith & Co of Newcastle Dining Chairs

£995.00

Description
A superb set of six late Victorian Sopwith & Co of Newcastle oak framed dining chairs. These chairs have a great shape, they have tall backs which give a grand feel and expertly carved details from top to bottom.
These chairs have recently been recovered using a good quality black vinyl which looks perfect with the medium wood tone.
Sopwith & Co was one of the most respected cabinet makers of Newcastle and was founded in 1769 by Thomas Sopwith Snr. and taken over by his son Jacob in 1800.
These are extremely rare dining chairs and we have been unable to find any other Sopwith & Co dining chairs which have sold previously so we believe these chairs were custom made for an extremely wealthy Victorian client.
If you have enough space around your dining table, we also have two carvers available on another listing so could be made to be a set of eight.
